the noise and ran towards it.
The men let go of their grip and Marana fell on the floor. She started to recite some more and the Bea’ar ready for an attack. The man, still frightened locked their eyes on the beast. When Marana stopped, the beast dashed forwards, tearing the clothes of the man to shreds.
Their weapons stood no change. When they struck, the beast dodged the attack and countered it. It only took a few minutes to get to two men out of the ally, all busted and bruised. Marana smiled.
Just when the two men got thrown out of the alley, Elled appeard. He jumped down from the roof tops and smashed the floors, a snake like object shifts through the floor towards the man, once there it created a gigantic fist slamming into the two men. Knocking them into the air.
Then they smashed back in to the ground, Elled stood over them and grinned. “Tough little cookie eh? You filthy perverts.” He tapped his hand together then again on the floor and roots appeared from the ground, tying up the men.
Elled looked around to see if there was any local jail or something. But apart from a few people watching them, there wasn’t much attention given to the whole situation. Most of them where just going on with their business. He turned around and ran to Marana. Sank through his knees and asked is she was alright. She said she was, but he could see she was dead scared. He held her close and tried to comfort her.
“ You did great, kid.” Elled started. “A clear head, and a clear mind. Even the Bea’ar had your back, first time summon. “ Marana shyly laughed. “It was a horrible situation, but the results are really good.” He continued trying to brighten the subject. Again Marana just smiled.
“Oh” Marana replied. “ Guess what I found.” from the dumpster box next to them, she took the cloak. “I found it just before I got attacked.” Elled padded her on the head. “What would I do without you?”. The little girl laughed. “Be poor” she smiled.
Elled took a scroll out and placed the cloak over it. Reciting a spell the cloak lit up for a second and then flew up. ‘ Time to follow it.’ he screamed grabbing Marana and touching the floor. Again a three appear carying them al the way to the top of the building.
The cloak stopt midair for a second then, flew into an eastern direction. Marana and Elled where on it’s tail. “This spel never led me down before.” Elled lied. Marana padded on his back. “Like that time in Eagrane?” - “That one doesn’t count!!”
About a mile it flew straight east, then it made a sharp left turn downwards towards a small building. It went inside followed by a loud bang. Elled and Marana jumped down form the rooftops and entered the buidling, It was a quite new building, there wasn’t much inside. It looked like a

too serious. He’s been a drunk all his life.” Elled smiled. “He sounded serious.” The waiter nodded. “ They all are.”
Done with the meal, Elled paid and waved at the bunch of drunks containing Larus. Time to get us a ride.
Once outside it felt like the town changed. As if they were looking through different eyes. It all grew darker, grimmer, maybe knowing the town was overruled added to the atmosphere. Elled looked at his little companion and nodded. “Let’s not lose hope.” he chuckled.
Moving around in the town, lots of market stalls where empty. Only a few managed to stay open, but the fish didn’t look to good. Everywhere there were people shouting, trying to sell their goods. It was a busy town, but it looked lke everyone was down on their luck. Trying to find the way through the thick crowd. Elled accidentally bumped into a cloaked person
Immediatly he noticed something was wrong, as when the strange character passed by, he started to accelerate. He was running away. Elled checked his pockets, noticing he lost all his money. Quickly he turned around only to see the man vanish into the crow.
He notified Marana and ran after the thief. Marana was smaller, so she would be able to squeeze right through. Elled ran towards a low building, smashed the floor and a small tree grew below him, carrying him all the way to the top. He jumped off as he was overlooking the town for the cloaked individual.
Jumping building to building, he couldn’t find him. The town was too packed this time of day. Maybe even, the thief removed the cloak. He couldn’t find him anywhere.
Marana was running and running, checking small allies and on the look out for the stranger, or his cloak. When suddenly, two men appeared behind her. The ally was narrow, and the two men where closing her in. She called for Elled, but he was too far away.
THey looked mean, scars on their faces, big nose, mean grin. One of them started to speak, his voice cold and dark. “What a lovely little girl, do we have here..” To Marana’s ears it sounded just filthy. She knew what he was after. The other man, quickly moved towards her and grabbed her throat, then slammed her against the wall. ‘ Let’s see how fresh this meat is.” he grinned.
She closed her eyes, recited a spell Elled taught her and grabbed the bone he gave her. The men where chatting with each other, discussion what to do with her. From the bone, a large yellow energy emerged, and the Bea’ar’s spyra appeared. It looked just like the giant Bea’ar but in stead of being from flesh and blood it excist only from Maqia energy. They called it the Animal’s Spyra (spirit).

“ Welcome to Harhar!” a friendly man shouted, dressed like a typical fisherman, rough clothes and boots, all gather from dead animals, dirty cotton shirt, wreaking of fish and other dead things. Things you don’t even want to think about.
Elled grabbed Marana’s hand and walked towards the Saloon. “ You hungry?” he asked, Marana nodded. The saloon was an old one. Time was hard on the small wooden building. But still, it had it charm. Once inside they saw how packed it was, drunken men in every corner, some passed out, others playing games of cards.
A small table was empty, the travelers both sat down. When the waiter came by Elled and Marana both ordered the thickest meat they got and a tea. The waiter replied they only served fish. Laughing they ordered the biggest Sal’aman. One of the best fishes in the house, the waiter said.
They felt all the eyes on them. They probably didn’t fit the normal profile. Elled dressed in worn leather, a shoulder backpack, a belt, some pouches. Marana, in nearly the same outfit. Only slightly more stylish. When Elled made her the clothes she said something about “ Excuse me?”
He disregarded it at first, but later instead of pants, she redesigned them into a skirt.
It was only a matter of time until someone sat next to them. “Hi there stranger.” he opened. “How does a neat pickin’ stranger like yourself end up in a deadwaste town of Harhar?”
Marana looked fiercely towards the stranger, he worse similar clothes as the man who welcomed them into town. Elled’s eyes rolled, he looked at Marana and then towards the man.
“I’m looking for transport.” Elled replied. “I need to go to the other side of the river.” The stranger chuckled. He looked at his friends at the bar and laughed. “That won’t be possible, my friend.”
Elled questioned him. “How so?”
The stranger explained: “The Reign controls these waters now, that’s why were all here.” the man came closer and covered his mouth a bit. “ All these dead-wastes lost their jobs, they be drinkin’ their sorrows away. Them women are mad too.” The man continued. “If anyone sets foot on the water, they’d be shot dead.”
Slowly Elled moved his hand on the mans shoulder. “I don’t care much for the Reign, my friend. But I still need to cross that river.” The man laughed again, then checked his friends at the bar. “Listen mate. “ Elled didn’t like the tone. “I don’t know who you are, or what you are. But don’t get us in trouble. We had more people like you!”
The man stood up and walked towards the bar, just before he mingled in he turned around. “Consider it a warning.”
Marana looked a bit frightend. “What did he mean with “More people like you”?” - Elled shook his head. “ I don’t know.” The waiter came with the food and refreshed their tea. “Don’t take Larus

smile. “ It’s weird.” he said. Marana though trying understand how he felt, looked a bit confused. “Who was she?”
“A friend.” Elled answered. “A good friend.” The little girl let loose of him and started to pack things up. “ What are you doing?”
“ Packing up. We have to go.” Elled smiled. This time he walked towards Marana and hugged her. “I wouldn’t know what to do without you girl.” - “ You could start by stop calling me girl.” she laughed.
It was a seven day travel towards the Finian Forest. In that forest is a tiny village, a village so small people hardly know it’s name. But Elled knew, Cadia. Lucky they where close, but stil, it would be a while.
Marana asked if they could go there faster. The hike would take a long time because they had to travel around a big river, crossing straight through it would cut off at least two or three days. Elled thought he knew a small fisherman's village at the the coast, who should be able to bring them to the other side.
When they finished packing, the left as soon as they could.
It was nearly dawn when little Marana woke up in Elled’s arms. IT seemed like he didn’ stop at all. He just kept walking and walking. As she looked at him, she smilled. His dark blue beard shiny in the sun. “ I’ll sleep on the boat.” he explained. The little girl nodded.
“I also like to compliment your first capture. You preformed the ritual so well.” Marana shyly thanked him again. “But..” Elled continued. “Did you take a bone to summon him?” There was a pause, Marana panicked. “No!’ she yelled. “I totally forgot. How can I be so stupid?”
Elled chuckled. Took out a bone from his pouch and gave it to her. “Here you go.” Marana felt relieved. Again she thanked him. “Think you can walk?” she nodded and was put down.
The pace was a bit off, Marana started to notice Elled lack of sleep, but he tried to keep up. Dashing through the forest he remembered her that they where getting close. It was only a few miles before they reached the Village.

The beast layed low, but then when she least expected it he tried to attack her again, but just before his giant claw with it her it stopped. Again. She still had both her hands in the air, but then slowly started to move them apart. The beast cried out in pain. Then again she asked him the question. “Will you join me?”
The beast sank through his knees and accepted his fate. Marana walked towards him and touched his head. The yellow energy now too was sparking out of his eyes. As they where trading thoughts, as if she was telling him what she was up to. Then she grabbed something the normal eye couldn’t see and pulled it out of the beast into a empty scroll she was carying.
The remaining body fell on the floor, lifeless, dead. when she blinked with her eyes, all the energy faded and she touched the dead carcass and thanked it for it’s service. She whispered she was happy he understood the situation and that his spirit would be a amazing support to the family.
Elled started to clap. “Bravo! Well done” he shouted to her. “Your first capture, nearly without my help.” Marana looked and smiled. “Thank you.” she said shyly. The man walked towards the dead animal and pet it like it still was alive. “Time for food.”
Elled rolled out a scroll, Tapped it once and a carriage appeared. He went inside and gathered some cutting supplies. Then he started to cut open the Bea’ar. In the mean time, Marana was trying to build a fire. She liked building it and creating it with sticks and branches.
The two ate together. Cleaned up and Elled desummoned the Carriage. “Time to move on.” he said.
Night came and went, but the two travelers didn’t stop. They had to hurry, and time was something they didn’t have. It already had been two days since they got Sevan’s message.
It was a day like any other, Elled was training Marana in her Maqimel technique, when suddenly a Maqia message-bird appeared. A small magical enitiy shaped liked a bird.
It flew by, saw Elled and went towards him. Then sat down on his shoulder awaiting further instructions. Elled felt it was from Sevan, since the sender has to send a certain amount of life energy with it. He said the password and the bird jumped down and transformed into a shady version of Sevan.
“They’ve found me, I’m not sure how, I’m not sure who. But the last week has been nothing but trouble. I feel I’m captured already they are just waiting for the right moment. Maybe until I would call out to you. You know I never would if it would be something silly.” the image stuttered and disappeared. And so did the bird.
There was a silence. Elled looked sad. Marana ran towards him and hugged him. “Don’t be sad, Elled. It’s going to be fine.” It was something she just did, it was something she knew how to do. Comforting someone with such an ease, it almost seemed her second nature. Elled tried to

The footsteps where getting closer and closer. “This is no good.” Elled thought. “If they catch us before we make it to the line, we’re screwed.” He and his companion, Marana, where running, and being chased after by a giant beast. A Bea’ar is what they called it. A bear like animal, but a lot bigger, more ferocious and twice as deadly.
Faster and faster it was gaining on them, Elled quickly dropped one of his scrolls and summoned a wall of sand to somewhat slow down the beast, but it did no good, it smashed right through. He turned to Marana, the poor child was running her small feet off. “You and your good idea’s.” he smiled.
Marana laughed. And just as the beast was able to reach them, a giant cage locked him in. “Got it!’ Elled shouted. “That was close.” the little girl added. Elled nodded. “Let’s do this Marana. Do you remember the ritual?”
The cage, a Maqia powered cage slowly started to shrink, until it completely wrapped up the beast, as it lost his balance, it fell on the ground with quite a roar. In the back birds flee at the sound of danger. Below the Bea’ar rests a scroll, one of Elled’s scrolls. The sign reads “capture”.
Marana starts drawing in the sand, making a circle and around the circles she writes different signs. In a ancient language. Then another circle to complete it all. Then she touched the the biggest sign in the middle and as she did the entire marking lit up. “You sure?” Elled asked. But she was silent. That was good.
The wind started to raise and the trees begin to shake. The beast starts to move, shaking, growling, even more ferocious then before. It sounded as it would be in terrible danged. Around it a small glow started to become visible. Slowly it became brighter and brighter, until it looked like it was carring the beast.
Marana’s eyes where the same bright yellow color as the Bea’ar’s coating. And as she stood up, the beast moved along. Then she raised her hands and started to murmur words. The more she said, the angrier the beast became. Faster and louder the beast started to growl. Even Elled got a little bit scared. Someone was not happy.
But the little girl wasn’t frightened, she knows what she is doing. She raises her hands up in the air and then smashed the beast down to the ground. Elled’s capturing spell broke and the beast thought it was free, when it tried to move. All Marana said was. “No.” and into an abrubt halt the beast came.
“Will you join me?” Marana spoke. The bea’ar looked confused. And again it tried to move. “I told you not to move.” the girl spoke. Again the beast couldn’t move a muscle. Her eyes still burning with the yellow energy. The beast growled, then stopped to move. Marana repeated her question. “Will you join me?”
